Ground

Floor
Series

St. Louis is home to a treasure trove of wonderful playwrights creating exciting new work, and we want to help those artists get their work seen. That’s why we have created our Ground Floor Series. Glass Elevator will work with a local playwright to workshop and develop an original script over the span of a few months culminating in a public staged reading.

Here is how the Ground Floor Series will work:

Submissions will be open for a month, after which our committee will review every submission and pick one for development. We will then start workshopping the script, offering insights, and supporting the playwright. The playwright will then take roughly 6 weeks to edit and update the script. Another reading and rehearsal with a cast and director to solidify the script. Finally, a full public reading for the community.

Ground Floor guidelines

-Playwright must live within the St. Louis Metro area (city or county or just over the river)
-Plays must be 90min or less (as close as possible)
-Plays must contain between 2-6 characters

Ground Floor Timeline

-Submissions for Ground Floor open February 3rd
